Although there is a large population of people from Assam living in Bangalore, we do not have a forum where we can meet, network and celebrate. We propose to fill this void by offering a platform where every individual/family from Assam, residing in Bangalore can use to mingle and know each other.In the process, we create a larger community of like-minded people and use this association to help each other and perhaps help take up bigger causes which can help not only specific groups in Bangalore but also in Assam. We would like to establish social and cultural relationship with similar associations from other states of Northeast as well as other states of India both in Bangalore and beyond the state of Karnataka.
We would like to conduct activities on a regular basis like Assamese Language Class, Assamese Dance Class, Assamese Cooking class and similar subjects which are of interest to the Assamese community of Bangalore. Over time we would like to get into a stage where we are in a position to provide relief and assistance for medical treatments, natural calamities, higher education and any other philanthropic/social welfare causes that will help a particular section of our community.
